Linux Jargon!

I want to bring out true meaning of some of the more geeky words used by Linux fans.
1.Root- Okay, this is the word that many hear a lot when they meet Linux users or start using a distro of Linux. It is probably the first confusing term that users encounter while using Linux.
If you are a Windows user then root is the equivalent of the Administrator user who has all the authorizations for modifying the whole system.
The Linux file system is organised as a tree structure so as a real world tree begins from the root so does the file system from the root folder.
